As for the history thing.....
Goth didnt exist in the roman times except as a group of tribes to be crushed by the currently reigning Ceasar.
And goth as a mideaval or post medieval influence didnt evolve untill approx 1140 in France, and contined as an artistic and archetectural influence untill the early to mid 16th century. Afterwhich the movement died out mainly due to the face that to construct any kind of buliding in the Gothic style was costly, and construction usually had to be halted before completion of the project. Thats why we see so many gothic cathedrals with later period spires and bell towers - they had to save the cash to complete the project.
Now goth started as a modern movemnt in the late 70's - early 80's, and was originaly know not as goths, but as swampies. The modern referal to people as goths only really started in the early to mid 90's, with some groups still calling themselves swampies today....

Also seems to me as though that ass-hole should have posted 80% of his stupid peterpuffin'rumprangin'buttpiratecockbreathlimpdickwankerBULLSHIT in private notes, but then we would have just de-leted that crap, n'est pas?? I think back to a couple who were banned from this site for MUCH less. Merely changing topic,amd slight insult to moderators, not massively insulting two really good members. I am thinking twice.

Sounds to me like you shouldnt get involved in stuff that doesnt personally involve you... I only ever insluted you after you insulted me in a private message. So in our case you are the instigator. And again you insult me. How very mature for someone of your age.
And I only made 2 posts that were directed personally to Iceheart, that doesnt constitue 80% of my posts by volume. And at the time I wasnt even aware that I could write personal messages.
Last time i checked I had a vagina... and its still there. So im not a HIM get your facts right.
I have already messages shy and appologised for the dramas that have erupted and given my reasons. Something that I didnt have to do, but did becasue I feel partly responsible for the shit thats going on.
Again i reiterate. Try and not get involved in stuff that doesnt involve you... Its rude.

Seems to me that the label virus has infected this particular discussion....
Exactly why I chose not to pidgeon hole myself into any category in particular.
The topic is "What is Goth?", a question and topic which allows all those who post replies to express not only thier personal interpretations and opinions, but also welcomes any factual/historical statements that may help clarify the issue.
This discussion has degenerated into a mud-slinging event, not at all an open minded info exchange, and has left me with the impression that the awnser to the question "What is Goth?", is much simpler than I thought at first. Goth seems to mean arrogant, rude, and self-righteous. Wheewww!!! Good thing I stuck with Punk Rock!

My mom was Ere which is gothic (look it up.) She kinda just used to wear elagant clothing (She's dead now.) Yeah she wore all black. But she didn't believe in god or anything she was atheist.
So I think that you don't have to believe a certain reliegion to be goth. That's just gay! But that's how my mom raised me and that's how I'm going to stay. Also I wouldn't really say that gothic is wearing all black either. Nor chains thats just what a lot of "Gothic" people are wearing.
I believe that gothic clothing has changed over the centuries. Because earlier you could wear white but elegant clothing and you would be gothic. I don't know what time this was but my mom taught me all about it because when I was little, I asked my mom why no one at school wore all black and these very nice clothing everyday like I did. And then she explained to me why this was.
But hey this is what I think you all can have different opinions but that's mine.....

Your mum sounds like she was very beautiful. I'd love to have lived in the area where you dressed like that....either that or I need to find myself a good dress-designer. Those old school dresses were to die for.
And bloodsfire, what exactly is PUNK ROCK and how do you come to the conclusion that what you THINK is punk rock is actually punk rock...seeing as tho we came to one conclusion in the goth discussion and that Goth is pretty much an interest in anything that doesnt conform with general society.
You never made a contribution to the Goth discussion, but seemed pretty to slam it pretty quickly.

Shelly Manson is cool, she has sent me a few messages, as for Glasy, I am still pissed she STOLE the package I sent to Iceheart. Unforgiven, but she will pay in the future, no worries.
I am naught a Manson follower, but hell, she IS cool, writes well, I enjoy Shelly's postings. Cool chic! As she is different from the average sheep, writes VERY well, I am going to write her in on the ballot for president. I would write in Iceheart, but her lack of American citizen-shippe(so far) precludes her from such a horror.
