But uhh yeah my mom would design her own clothes sort of like she would by a certain dress and add on some more shit to make it look all umm "cool". She gave me one of them and then she was buried with one of them, she gave some more to my sister. I was the first child so I never got a lot. She learned how to design clothes from her mom i know but I don't know about the rest. But she was a very good artist. When I was like 4 my Dad left me so I guess that's what made us so close. Maybe? I don't know but. yeah. Bored you probally guessed. Well bye.

Well i live in an estate which is full of "townies" and they all seem to hate goths.. to them, anyone with pale face wearin black is goth, and will get jumped/ abuse shouted at them/ pistol-whipped...
I can't really say what a goth is to me, beacuse i know a lot of goths and they're all really different... some of them just like the style, some are morbid, some like hiphop (or that might just be me) etc...

The world moves fast and it would rather pass by

Goth encompasses many things to many people, on both sides of the spectrum. Me, I stick with the killer clothing, 1700's or 1890's Tux, knowledge of castles, black powder as well as ultra-modern firearms. Reading classic literature, Renaissance studies, bourne to this century. People there kick your asses? Study Aikido, carry hand grenades, fuck, I pity you can't get a concealed firearms permit there.

Many Victorian Women used to keep hairpins in their 'do, laced with cyanide. Cyanide is a common industrial chemical, also artists use it to patina bronze. Rat poison works well also, though unreliable. But, the HAIRPIN! How easy to deploy at close quarters.....

Victims are generally those who don't think a-head.

You knows what? It is true though that a lot of goths get picked on for their look. I used to be picked on at school. Not as much as it seems today (goths are being picked on), but yeah. And some of the stuff I see in the papers and on the news about goths are just really fucked up!!!! Brian's little sister (she's in high school), get's her/their ass kicked so I can agree with Twisted. One day she called Brian crying saying they dumped food and drinks all over her so ummm yeah! It sucks! The world has changed soooo much that it's now just, well, it's not even a world anymore! Now it's some great big, ummm, piece o' shit! Yeah that's what it is!!! But yeah I'm taking to long so yeah!!!!!

Goth fashion, whether Industro or old school, or anything in between or outside the parameters, simply RULES! And with good make-up, YES!!! I pity the ignorant status quo A-holes who wear preppy crap, naught creative enough to realize THEY are the ones who obviously have a hard time fitting in. So, what, they have to wear a UNIFORM? Camoflauge to hide creativity and lurking obteneberated desires? I often braid my hair, put things like seashells and chain links in it, crow feathers I find, bullets, shattered cd discs (I use them for target practice) and I live in a rural, conservative yet oddly eccentric area. No one disses me here, least naught to my face, I have more trouble in large cities than anywhere. Naught much trouble, as no one gets past 4 unkind words, but then again I have a background of training, am lucky in this respect. I liked the comment about being nice to people, when I was in school, even though eccentric, the bullies never messed with me, partly because i would help the MORONS with their homework and partly because I earned a blackbelt at 15, could quote Shakespeare as I tossed them about like rag dolls. Still, politeness often works, but there are a lot of stupid angry people out there. Having people dump drinks and food on you, shit, wish I had been there, to shove soda cans down their throats, but realize "persons" who do that kind of crap have broad spectrum discontentment issues, they will have harsher memmories than YOU ever will. Stick to the code, hold your head up, excell in studies, sport, write a killer report, on fashion, war, pestilence, whatever, and read it to your class....show your class! School is such a formulative era, you have the opportunity to change minds. I would be happy to proofread....provide suggestions, naught that you ASKED! Sorry, I was having flashbacks....but I do like...goths!

How very goth.
School may very well indeed be formulative in your mind Rose-butted, and it is easy to mistake the lessons enforced upon your unwilling mind as "opportunities to change minds", but all those years I spent in school have learned me nothing compared to what I've learnt in the few years I've been out. Forcing assignments and studies is a waste of time for most people, and unfortunately not even comes from parents who will let their child drop out after 10th grade
School sux, I'd rather private tuition in skills that are useful.

Sherlock Holmes once stated, in conversation with Watson, that the human mind is quite like an attic space in your home. If you constantly pile info on top of info, you will eventually run out of space, and for every new fact, an old one is lost. Holmes insisted that a person should only fill his mind with the information which is pertinent to his work at the time, to be selective in your mental intake. I agree with him to some extent. This is why I do not often watch the news, and try not to waste time absorbing random info....
I wrote all that just to agree with Iceheart that not everyone needs to be proficient at algebra, or Midaeval Literature...

A Goth in my eyes doesnt need the color black,in some acient terms a "Goth" is presumed to be and intelligent, hermitt like person...so I'll stick with that term of Goth.

Yes, Sherlock focused exclusively on his work.....I just re-read "Casebook of Sherlock Holmes" (Highly recommended) but.....thing is, some have no problem studying many many things. Languages, arts, science, whilst tending garden, working in wood, bronze, firearms, explosives, cooking, automobiles, men and machines, dog training, study, Theremin playing, ragging on the government, Mechanics, Pumpkin Ale brewing, turning a guitar into a rifle, ginseng hunting, ect. ect. Naught to spread thin, but energy begets energy. Keep your mind active, body fit, and for Gawths sake stop eating those fucking TWINKIES!!

Lydia Deetz, the Winona Ryder character from the 1988 Tim Burton film Beetlejuice, is probably what pops into the mind of most people when they hear the word "goth". Pale, dreary, kids wearing all black, that are fascinated with morbid thoughts.
If your asking what led to the common definition of Gothic being "connected to the dark and horrific". The answer is the nineteeth century Gothic Novel. The predecessor to modern horror fiction.

Actually I wouldnt exactly assume they would think of pale, dark clothed kids when thoughts of "Gothic" come to mind because mostly now pre-teen Goths where what ever is out on the market saying its of a Gothic culture which is mostly(I'mma big shopper)that Pink Kitty shit, old not known bands, and a dash of pink/black or green/black stripped clothing. Now for accessories its stripped stuff, fuzzy purses and chains of ALL sorts of neon colors.Gothic today is formed by the market, not by the mind anymore,Goths arent always dark and mobid now,hell....they dont even have to have a brain as long as they have flesh that needs to be covered.Goths are a dieing culter,as all others and will be formed in the markets of todays society as whatever "we" wish it to be.
