- If you drop a pair of scissors you should tread on them gently before picking them up to avoid arguments.
- Hanging your scissors on a nail or hook brings good luck.
- If someone gives you a pair of scissors, give them a coin in return.

it is said if you drop a pair of scissors it is an omen of death to come.
the person who dropped them should not be the one to pick them up, they should have a freind do it.
they should also be warmed between the hands before being used again.
open scissors in the form of a cross placed under a doormat it said to ward off evil spirits
in africa it is known that if a pair of scissors are opened or closed during a wedding the groom will become impotent

My family has always held true to the rule that any Knife that is unsheathed or flipped open(like a gator-grip, or swiss army kife..)by you must be closed by you alone.
Also, a knife, or other metal blade placed under the mattress, or your pillow, helps to ward off domestic demons |
