it is believed that the soulsof suicides will know no rest and they are condemned to raom the earth forever.

to keep the ghost of the suicide from returning to their home in early years they were buried at CROSSROADS and never in holy ground.
the reason forthis is to confuse the spirit.

other burial rite were to have the corpse placed under running water or be driven to the ground by stakes thru the corpse.

it is also said if a pregnant women walks over the the grave of a sucicide she is doomed to miscarry the child.

weep no more for me,
my time has passed.
My soul has gone to its final resting place,
For now I am free.

life is what we make it...but sometimes it can be curl enough that you wish it away.i have been pressed to the point of not wanting to be here ,but i think we all do at one time or another.keeping someone on restperators to stay alive can seem like a good idea ,but dose that show a sign that you are greedy not to let your loved one pass over?my moher shoot and killed my father two years ago and he comes to hunt me but not my mother.i belive if he had not been killed while feed thedogs the one thing he enjoyed he would have not came back to see me.but he is my father and he loved my dearly he was fighing bi-polar and depression , my mom thought she was releasing him from him self.she never spent a day in prison for it.death has always been a taboo thing is just about every part of the world.

Consideratly Killing Me.

Not to take the topic off the way it's going or anything...But, what about people who refuse medical help when they're dignosed? Isn't that a form of suicide as they don't even try? My Great Grandfather refused medical help when he was diagnosed with Lou Gerick*'s diease. The whole family had to watch him waste away slowly. And the day he died he was still refuseing medical help. He was only 68 I think. The doctors said if he had help he could have lived longer. (There's no cure)

Suicide only seems selfish when you must sufffer the loss of a loved one. But then, we all suffer anyway don't we? Perhaps we should think more of the heart break and despair that must haunt the one who has gone on...The most painful thing to me is the thought of my lost one feeling truly alone, being truly dead inside. I don't think of his death as a selfish act, I only pray that whereever he is, he knows I am with him still. For him, to know how I love him, even though his death has made life hell for me, that matters most...sometimes I would'nt mind joining him. It would be selfish of me to judge.
Let him without sin.....
You all know the rest.

How sad Robat , I would say Im sorry but I dont know what Im being sorry for.
Instead, I offer you a rose, Rose-Bat . Since my Grandma passed away a few weeks ago, I learnt that theres no point in someone being sorry for your loved one dying, because its no their fault (well usually) so instead I ask poeple to send me a rose instead. She liked roses, and they smell pretty and look really nice as well. Their a methaphor of life anyway.

It is sad to hear tho, that your friend has left the hotel. Suicide is so selfish.
(Ive already opened this can of worms in another post, dont start the arguement again in this one please )

Here is my pink rose. Its pink because I like the color pink, and roses are pretty to look at so my theory is it will make you think of happier times with your friend/loved one.

4 days ago a friend of mine just committed suicide, Sgt. Brian Havens. 42 years of age....he had the unfortunate experience of being platoon Sgt. with U.S. Army Rangers during the Panama invasion, and meeting up with a group of what I diserned to be Cuban mercs. 4 members of his platoon lept up and charged, without instigating adequate cover fire, M-23 grenade launches, air support, light machine gun, nothing. They just lept in.....and got gunned down. When you train to be gung-ho, tradgedy often occurs. And he was responsible for them.

Brian was a good friend, we would explore woods and swamps, get drunk together and wrestle, train martial arts, pull wild escapades. He was always relible to pour metal at my foundry, and always concerned with the animals and wildlife in Tampa Bay. He was honest, a good man, and never backed down from a challenge. And DAMN we had some good times. The thing that really gets me, is that he is dead, and I had naught seen him in four years. Hung him-self in his house, his girl Lisa found him, coming home from her job at Animal Rescue.

The point? Keep in touch with friends, if you have to go away, leave contact info. We can check out of this hotel at any time.

Tis only the God in you that speaks Mazeppa, and the heart that knows what it is to ache with every beat, alone, enraged, broken and weary. Death will do that to you.....

True, Lady Bloodsfire. If I were to....weep over every seedling in my forest which did not achieve tree-dom, I would dry up and blow away. Odd, is'nt it, how we are blessed or cursed to be.....dancing a fine line between sensitivity, and utter coldness? Both have their moments. We just have to judge the occurance properly. Oooops, shit, my feminine is glaring again.....Damn those hermaphroditic trees!

Death comes in it's own time. Those of us left behind may be quite sure that we have been jipped. That fate, cowardice, cruelty, injustice, etc, has taken from us what we love before it's time. How arrogant to assume that we can ever bbegin to fathom the grand picture of life and growth and experience. If it happened, then it was time. It does not matter if suicide, homicide, freak accident, or act of god takes the life of a loved one. The fact that that life(as we knew it) is no more, speaks for itself. Some are destined to outlive thier own grandchildren, some to tie thier own noose...
Things just are. To try and quantify, or define the validity of any lessons learned over any number of lifetimes is not only futile, but self-defeating.

Heehee, I won't object to that!

I remembered that movie with Robin Williams I mentioned in one on my speils about suicide and shit.......might not have been this one, cant be fucked looking.

The movie is called What Dreams May Come - 1998.
Its absolutely brilliant. Doctor Chris Nielson (Robin Williams) meets his true soul mate Annie (Annabella Sciorra), marries her and has two children. The children die in a car accident, and Chris dies four years after that. Ending up in heaven, he is guided by friendly guardian angel Albert (Cuba Gooding, Jr.) through the afterlife, and he is reunited with his dog and children. But when he finds out his wife had committed suicide, he desperately searches for her spirit, journeying through Heaven and Hell along the way.

Get it, watch it a few times...it'll fuck with your mind but shit its good.

I could not agree more Kanjo. It is no better to torture souls who thru the natural course of life should have passed over long ago, than to end your own because its too hard to deal with.
If the quality of life is gone, how can the soul be truly happy and content. To me, the soul is what makes us shine.....how can you shine when the sun has gone out?

Empty vessels who don't have a clue where or who they are....
that sounds a lot like the ghost of a suicide! Some say the spirits have unfinished business, does someone alive in the old folks home have the same?

Sorry to bust on you Kanjo, it is all in humorous vein, I hope you realize. I tip my glass to.....Frog Anatomy!

I have the unfortunate job (at times) through my career choice to have to visit old age care homes. Not only are these places pull of empty vessels who don't have a clue who or where they are, but also there are a lot of people who are arching on beds in constant pain with no respite.

Most of these people would have died long ago if not for extreme medical intervention. It is easy to condemn taking ones own life, but is it any better to torture these poor souls by extending a life that not only has no quality of life but worse still a negative quality?

mazeppa, i think you've got me wrong, not only do i think you are right on the thread topic, but you have added a very pertenant point.

I would strongly encourage any poster who can add a personal point of view or a reason why they are interested to a thread to do so. This is what makes thrads so interesting. Most of the initial postings are just seeds.

Not that you need any rubbing on your tummy, but, well done.
