WEIRD & BIZARRE
:
Weird & Bizarre June 2004 |
Thank You |
|
SAN FRANCISCO -
It's not nice to call someone "chicken butt" on the air - but it's not
slanderous either. A state appeals court this week dismissed a slander
lawsuit filed against a radio station by a former contestant of the
Fox television show "Who Wants to Marry a Multimillionaire." Jennifer
Seelig sued KLLC-FM in San Francisco after a DJ called her a "local
loser" and a "chicken butt." The Court of Appeal said Seelig had no
cause to sue because she had invited media scrutiny
when she agreed to appear on the TV show. It said the comments were
merely an expression of opinion. The court also ruled Seelig must pay
the legal fees of the station and its employees under a state law that
penalizes suits that seek to squelch free speech. |
Sex Dolls |
|
A
MUNICH,
Germany - A nosy acquaintance
spying on his neighbour panicked when he thought he saw the man carry a dead
body into his apartment. The voyeur immediately called the police and told them
about the supposed corpse. Police went to the alleged offender's apartment to
question him, and at first, the man appeared to be "surprised and disturbed" by
their questions. He quickly denounced any wrongdoing by showing them the "dead
body." The "corpse" turned out to be the latest addition to his sex doll
collection, and police simply closed the file on the false murder case.
According to a police spokeswoman, "The man also showed the officers four other
inflatable sex dolls he owns. Apparently, he had just been testing out his new
acquisition when police arrived." Thanks for the imagery. |
Court Rules 63 Year Old Man Can Garden In The
Nude |
PENNSYLVANIA -
To combat the Summer heat, 63-year-old Charlie Stitzer would often mow
his back lawn wearing nothing but a little thong. And at night, he
would often relax or garden in the nude, claiming his neighbors
couldn't see him because of the darkness. They disagreed. Stitzer was
found guilty of indecent exposure and disorderly conduct and was
sentenced to two months probation. The spunky senior challenged the
ruling, and the verdict was overturned. Three Superior Court judges
supported Stitzer, claiming he could roam naked on his own
property since he wasn't drawing attention to or exposing himself in a
public place. Stitzer's lawyer defended his client, "If people don't
want to see what's going on in his backyard, they can avert their
eyes. It was a civil rights issue." |
