I have decided to add some more metal to my body...discretely of course, as is my way For those who've seen my post, I have a few strategically placed, but I've decided I want a nose stud. I know its gross and all, but I decided the really really REALLY little tiny ones that look like a speck of glitter on ur nose, are actually quite pretty and elegant looking. I have a few loose cut tiny little diamonds kicking round that i bought ages ago so I'm having one made up into a nose stud, and I'm wondering, does anyone have a nose stud that can enlighten me on the process? Like does it hurt, being ur schnoze and all, and is it realy gross when u blow ur nose lol? And how long does it take to heal? Please share your piercing experiences with me, for any piercings you have!

Hey Jaz....
I have my nose peirced. Although explaining it would be rather difficult (eg: the pain etc). I peirced it myself when I was about 15 and I've had it there ever since. It doesn't hurt when it's going in, but it really brings tears to the eyes when it hits the inner layer of flesh in your nose.
I wore a stud for a while, and over the years I've changed my styles. Although now I'm wearing just an ordinary small sleeper. I've had it for so long I usually forget it's there.
I went through a real "peircing" fad when I was younger. I've taken most of them out. I had my labret, nose, 4 in my right ear, 2 in my left and my eyebrow. I've kinda gone off that and gone onto tattoos now....LOL. I want to get my tongue done though, except I'd imagine that'd really hurt! lol |

I forgot to add something...lol
Sometimes when you get your nose peirced, because the skin is so tender there, it can reject the stud. If it does that, it is proof that you will never be able to get it done. It's just the way some people are.
Symptoms are:
It doesn't heal Skin starts growing over the top of the stud And irritation of the peirced area well after the healing process should be over.
It happened to my Auntie, she's spewing that she can never get it done again. She loves them. |

hahaha Shy, it is gross. I'm so glad it didn't happen to me. I've peirced my nose 3 times before and it's never happened. So I'd say I'm one of the lucky ones....lol |

I'm with you guys, I'm off to get one this weekend I'm just going with a little for now, but how excitment! To Blair Bitch - if you've had that many piercings you wont feel your tongue. Its just like getting your ear done. I watched mine get done and it was a bit scary, they use a huge ass needle to pierce it with but the only pain comes a few hours hours later - as its swelling up!!! I was unlucky, mine stayed swollen for 5 days and all i could eat was yogo and apple baby food, but depending on how quick you heal, it can go down after a few hours. Apparently the sexual benfits are great, but I personally think a pierced tongue looks rather nice!

I wanna get a few other places peirced, but am a bit scared...hehe I can take pain pretty well, although I have a really bad jumping reflex. I've had doctors try to give me needles and I've knocked the thing out of their hands without me even realising it....LOL. I also couldn't stop twitching the whole time I was getting my tattoo done either...I just don't want them to be holding a big ass needle in front of my face and then have me jump. Could be dangerous
My brother has his tongue done and he said you don't feel it when it starts going in, all you feel is a bit of pressure. His tongue swelled up the next day and it lasted 2-3 days. He could only eat Yogo as well...lol. I remember sitting in front of him eating Pizza saying, "Mmmmm, this' so good...want some?", and him returning envious glares...hehe
Anyway, good luck with your new peircing addition I hope everything turns out ok
Oh and by the way, the best studs to buy are ones that are curled at the back. They kinda look like a curled cobra in striking position. They are so damn comfy. |

Oooooh, you have tattoo's too?
I've got two. Although the one on my ankle is going to be covered up in the near future. It's of a celtic cross....Damn those Jail Tatts...LOL
The best one is the one on my back which is a skull castle. It took me years to choose the one I wanted. I took into consideration that I would be wearing the thing for the rest of my life and didn't want to rush into anything. I have photos if u wanna see

I can see why you would want those things permanently on your skin!

A tattoo is definately something that all should seriously think about before rushing off and getting one. But then it's simply a matter of well, if you want one, go do it, if not, don't I suppose....lol
I see it as an artform. It is a painting that is painted on the best canvas there is....virgin skin.
But yeah, it all just depends on what you're into I suppose.

Don't get me wrong Blair I totally agree, there are some very talented tattoo artists out there. What I have to question is people's choice of what they select to be permanently on their skin. Why pick a butterfly, just because its feminine... and the gothic wire shit is wearing awfully thin with me as well. And also the placement of the tattoo on some people is questionable. I think most people I know that have tattoo's do it for the wrong reason (as status symbol rather than personal reasons)and tend to neglect the forethought of its permanancy...

ahhh, I getcha
It took me 4-5 years to get my first tattoo after I was legally the right age. Just for the simple fact that I wanted to find something that I liked personally (not something that I've seen on someone else and have gone "Whoa! That's cool. That's what I wanna get for myself")
But you're right, too many people go rushing into it just because it's "cool to have one" nowdays, most of 'em are all just past legal age limit that are like that....lol
I get so sick of seeing all the gothic/celtic armband shit as well. Same as dragons and eagles *rolls eyes*. I love dragons and when I was younger I wanted a dragon to be tattooed first on me....but it's too common.
The more you think about what you want and the longer you leave it before making a decision, the more you like it when it's done. It's a big decision to make. That's how I see it anyway...lol

I think tats are an expression of personal taste. And definately an expression of art. I got a celtic (sorry but they werent that common when i first got it) chain under my belly button - its black and red and stands for never-ending love, being celtic in deisgn it has no beginning or end its pretty. THis weekend just gone I got the Orions Belt constellation done on my hips...its going to be part of something im designing to go on my lower back. and I also now have a picture of a cat too in honour of my baby Woosk! its not a colored in one, its just a black outline of a cat - its cute. i want angel wings on my back, have for years, but i cant draw them properly lol. whats on your body?

I've only got two so far. The one on my back is a mystical castle that is made up of a skull. There's a path coming out of it's mouth and winding up and then it fades away. (It's the only way I can explain it without just showing you....lol)
The other one is on my right ankle, and its of a celtic cross (Yes, I got it when it wasn't too common either) . Although I hate this one and am trying to look for something to cover it up.
I've got pictures of the skullcastle one saved on my computer if you want to see it. Just lemme know and I'll send them
