About 8 years ago i lived in a new 2 storey house in the burbs of Sydney. I lived in the house with my family all of which were adults. I had an upstairs bedroom to myself, and on this particular night I went to bed as usual.
I woke up at what turned out to be about 3.30am, and remember feeling like someone else was in the room. At the foot end of my bed I had a mirrored wardrobe wall, and Raised my head up enough to look down the bed. In retrospect the room seemed to be overlit with that blue moonlight effect. when I looked into the mirror i saw a Girl in the reflection who appeared to be standing level next to my head in the bedroom. She appeared to be about ten years old with long hair, and was wearing what appeared to be a long night dress. She wasnt looking down on me in bed but at me looking at her in the reflection.
Needless to say i was suprised, I then went to turn my head and look at her directly thinking what is this girl doing in my room. The problem being, I could not move, i wasnt thinking ghost up until this point, so it wasn't from fright, and being a rather large specimen i wasnt in fear of a small child. However, at this point became a little concerned, i stared at the girl for a minute or so in the mirror , her still looking at me with no expression on her face. There was nothing hazy about what i saw, she was clear in view, all her features appeared normal, the only thing was that she seemed a little colourless, mind you the whole room had the same moonlight colouring. I tried to turn again to no avail, I then closed my eyes (about all of me that worked) for maybe half a second, when i opened then the girl was gone and i was able to move again. I got up immediately and searched the room and found nothing. I Know i was not dreaming because i did not go back to sleep that night.

i knew a woman were i use to work, who said she had lived in a house with a ghost. It was supposedly the ghost of a girl who had died in a fire in that very house.
She never saw her but said that the ghost would hide her lighter, and turn off the stove if she left the kitchen while it was on.

I've also read a similar story somewhere about a haunted girls dorm somewhere in the US where personal items would go missing like lip stick, CDs etc. There was a rumour going around the dorm that the place was haunted by a certain ghost can't remember the exact name lets just say it was Beryl. If the girls wanted their missing items back all they'd have to do was say "Beryl, can I have my (insert missing item here) back ?" and the item would re-appear in the next day or so !
