Commercial buildings that are known to be haunted are nothing
to fear-when you're trying to sell them, that is. According
to Atlanta real estate analyst T.L. Burns, haunted buildings
have a unique appeal to buyers who want the space for retail
stores or restaurants. "As a matter of fact, haunted commercial
real estate often sells for a premium," Burns told me in an
interview, "The new owners find that their customers are
enthralled by tales of ghostly inhabitants. They get a kick
out of the possibility that they may be rubbing shoulders with
unearthly spirits as they shop or dine." And that makes para-
normal properties worth more.
