Hi, Im not sure if this forum is still up and running (I just found it today) but I am getting desperate so I thought I'd try anyway. I have an axolotl who hasn't eaten for over a week. He (Lister) normally eats either a block of blood worms or 1 meal worm a day but now nothing. He is going up to surface a lot to get gulp of air PH is about 7.0 Use a neautraliser to remove ammonia and chlorine etc Have a filter Temp of water ok Any other thoughts? Does anyone know of a vet in sydney that specialises in axolotls? Thanks
Hi, Lister is going up to the surface to gulp air because he needs oxygen. Even if you have a filter sometimes there isn't enough oxygen in the water and they'll go to the surface. Sometimes they'll stop eating because they are still trying to digest food. You can always look at www.axolotl.org or www.caudata.org
Help me plz my axolotl is floating on the surface and will not eat, he has lost alot of weight and has white blobs all over him and his tail is now completely white, his frills are nowhere near as bushy and you can hardly see them at all. I am really worried about him and I really hope this forum is still up because I really need some help /cry :'-(
