In my country known as Malaysia (In case you don;t know where it is, its directly north of Singapore and under Thailand, Indonesia and close to Vietnam), a schoolgirl cried after failing to achieve full As in her PMR (Penilaian Menengah Rendah or means Lower Cert Examination; Equivalent to Junior High School Finals) What do you guys think of that? Think its stupid? or just being perfectionist? Also, what do you think of an education system that is exam-orientated? 9By the way, I grew up under this education-system and I think it sucks!)
as far as taking things seriously is concerned, schoolchildren commit suicide everyday in india because of failing to 'prove themselves' and 'reach their goals' academically. parental and peer pressure play a big role in the cause of such and i wish people here would just relax a little bit sometimes :P
a schoolgirl crying because of that is'nt a very big problem. i'm sure she'll grow out of it. she just did'nt get her candy bar/teddy bear/(substitute socially acceptable reward symbol here)
