Though he's not my 'favorite', Albert Fish was definitley a character that we can learn alot from. He was a sadist, masochist, pedophile, cannibal, and murderer. Authorities at the time were quoted as saying that 'Albert Fish practiced every perversion known to man, and a few that were still unheard of'. When told he would be executed in the electric chair, he was gleeful, saying 'what a thrill it will be. The only one I haven't tried yet'. There is debate as to whether Albert actually qualifies as a serial killer, since his victim count remains unknown. His conviction and execution were based on the murder of a child named Grace Budd. Albert killed her, cooked and ate her, then sent a letter detailing his meal to Graces mother. The auhtorities intercepted this letter before it reached the grieving mother. Fish practiced such strange fetishes as inserting rose stems into his urethra, and sticking needles deep into his groin(these needles actually shorted out the electric chair when Albert took his first turn in it, and after examination, doctors removed the slivers of metal, and saw to it that Albert fried crispy as chicken). Another interesting fact about Mr. Fish is that though declared legally insane by the court(a decision that almost always results in a lifetime of psychiatric hospitalization for the offender), the jury recommended and the judge seconded Alberts trip to death row. One of the rare cases when a jury can rule someone to be infuckingsane, and then say 'oh well, fuck it, you're gonna die anyway!' Seems Albert was so obviously sick, and the court so disgusted with his crime, that execution was the only truly just thing to do.....
I think it takes a lifetime of hard work to get so completely twisted. Takes alot of practice, and the courage(or lack of feeling) to actually subject himself and others to such horrible treatment. I don't have a favorite serial killer per se, but Mr. Fish is most definitley a member of the murderer hall of fame. A unique and completely depraved individual.
And as the walls come down, and As I look in your eyes, My fear begins to fade, Recalling all of the times... I have died and will die. It's all right. I don't mind.
