"Red sky at night, sailor's de-light,
Red sky in the morn, sailor's be warned."

An old poem......actually often seems to hold true. Cloud formations also portend whether situation, and in the days before tv whethermen, radio, you had to judge yourself, I mean, how the whether might be, an important decision as crewmen, cargo, could be lost. Pilot of the storm who leaves no trace? Does that mean no cargo and bodies in the water? Arrrrrrhhhh, Matey!

I remember that little poem
Same as seeing fog early morn....usually means a nice sunny day is to follow the lifting fog.
Must also be said for sleet too, coz our car was covered in a nice thick layer this morning. Sunny Warm Queensland - MY ARSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Heaven bent to take my hand, and lead me thru the fire.
Be the long awaited answer, to a long and painful fight.
I am just wondering.....Iceheart, does it ever SNOW there? Like snow you have to dig your car out of, ice you fall on your arse upon, roads so slicked you drive at 7 miles an hour so you don't wipe out? It is odd, here the summer bursts forth, and it looks all-most tropical, greenery every-where, millions of AMAZING in-sects, weirder than I ever saw in south america. Then the winter comes, every-thing seems to go in-to total tupor, the ice accumulates, it can actually get to minus 10 degrees F. Plus wind chill. House heat source becomes like an obsession, have alternate sources in case say the gas lines freeze or break, electric lines go down.......Brrrrrrrrrr!
"The red sky burst full, at dawn forlorn,
By eve our sails are tattered and torn.
We shan't survive, me-thinks, this night,
Davey Jones calls us to join his blight."
Nothing, of course, compared to what Tampa Bay is about to experience, this Friday the 13th. Two Hurricanes, Bonnie hitting North Florida, (minor) But Charlie, is expected to hit the Tampa Bay area with 16 foot tidal surges and 120 M.P.H. wind. Cuba escaped severe damage, but I expect a full emergency situation in Tampa. Tampa? A costal city, on the Gulf of Mexico, I grew "up" near there. I left because of massive population swells, looks like a big change coming. McDill Aero Force Base, control headquarters for the Iraq desert war, has evacuated and is now based at, oddly enough, the Tampa FAIRGROUNDS! The base is expected to be under xxx feet of water. The poor FISH! I make no light of the situation, and of course this Class 3 Hurricane could possibly turn and make land-fall elsewhere, but it is the biggest since 1921, a hurricane that separated land mass into island, all I can say is I am glad I MOVED! MacThrills' 13 air tankers went to Nebraska........
