There are several supersitions that are related to the hair. The hair is considered something that is mysteriously attatched to the body even if it is cut or removed. Some of these are: Red Hair-Bad Temper-yet is considered lucky to run your fingers through red hair. Fair Hair (Blonde)-Weakness Black Hair-Strength and luck Straight Hair-Cunning Curly hair-good temper It is said that if you lose your hair or get it cut you should collect it to keep it safe from witches. If a witch were to find your hair a spell is sure to be cast on you. I have a couple of questions What about Brown hair? (like myself) I don't know what to expect when I encounter someone that has curly red hair, do I run my hands through it for luck and then run? If it is true not to leave your hair lying around what are all the barbers and hair dressers doing with all of that hair?

Excellent posting....I use a shedding blade on my big dog, and put the hair out for the birds to co-llect as nesting material. I hope no witches get hold of it!! On my re=cent trip, I dyed my hair orange, maybe that counts as red....and have seashells in the braids, also feathers (back to the bird/hair thing) leaves, and vines. I feel pretty lucky! Hair super-stition.....don't voo-doo artists use hair in dolls??

It is said that the hair and other bodyly fluids have a phsyic link with the rest of the body. Boiling a single straind of hair will force the owner to become a witch or sorcerer, whether they want to or not. Burning the hair in a ritual ceremony can cause the person excurciating pain. If several strainds of hair are molded into wax in an image that resembles the owner causes the voodoo effect to the owner of the hair. They used to shave witches saying that it would rid them of their supernatural powers. The safest way to disspose of your hair is to bury it. The owner of the hair will need it on judgement day. It is not safe to save the hair this will, as it said, bring on premature death.

Being a practioner of the craft I do not think anyone needs fear that boiling a strand of there hair will make them a witch regardless of there feelings on the matter. Though a bit of hair can be a strong aid in spellwork. It is said to gaurd your hair or nailclippings against ones enemies.

Is it true that changing hairstyle can make you a different person?

How does it make you a different person? It should only change a person on the outside. It will make you have false confidence or true self conscienciounous. Yea my spelling sucks

A point I made awhile ago, I might look different but am still the same inside. One guy really got PISSED that I had seashells in my hair, so I simply challened him to a duel, and told him I would gladly gouge his eyes out and skull fuck him if he did'nt manage to grow some sense.
Funny how bullies back down, when meeting a viable threat. Jamie Cook spells ok, I like the trains of thought. And, WHAT a KILLER NAME!!

Sounds a little nasty but why would someone get pissed because you had sea shells in your hair?

Why do people get pissed at any-thing? Beats me, I am a HAPPY GUY!

Hmmmmmm, I am undecided, black or blond this season? Seashells or bird-feathers?? Perhaps I should put a nest in my hair? The dreads are getting quite tangled, maybe a tad bit of twisted jungle vine would be in order? A few chicken eggs might keep the local populace quiet......whilst they harp about my back. Fuck life is FUN!!!! In the Army, I had a Mo-hawk, and I put razors and shell casings in my hair, only reason I got a-way with it is cause I was so fuckin' bad-ass. I parachuted into command quarters (enemy) and decimated the whole bunch. So, if I want eccentric hair now, if I don't fucking BRUSH it for a couple months, if a sewer tunnel explorer in NYC dyes it RED after a long night of drinking Absinthe`, hey, diss my art, but don't fuck with my HAIR! I am soooooo sensitive....hahahaha. Wanna know cool hair? Try some Axoloti skeletons......watch YOUR neighbors flip out..... This message has been brought to you by the Church of Jesus Christ and former day Saints.*

I am pretty sure that Samson would argure with the idea that changing ones hairstyle has nothing at all to do with the inner person, but is rooted purely in the desire to appeardifferent, or more fashionable. True, to many, hair is an accessory, just like a scarf, or hat. But to many more, hair, and it's natural physical qualities(curly, kinky, straight), combined with it's styling, and the signifigance of such(dread locks, braids, beaded, twisted, cropped, long and free flowing), play a huge role in ones personal beliefs and power. To shear off long locks after years of growth is much like the shedding of a snakes skin. Layers of energy(good and bad)and experiences are catalogued in our hair, much like the age rings on a tree. If how we feel inside is reflected so often in how we appear outside, how then can it be assumed that no power lies in physical or cosmetic alterations? Our self-image is just exactly that, the way in which we imageine ourselves to be. Beautiful, natural, simple, dramatic, mysterious, glowing, dark, magnetic, appealing, shameful, inadequate, bold, elegant, understated, intrinsically vital and powerful, or mousy and invisible. To change ones haircolor can be the same as changing ones attitude. Getting a tattoo or new dress can signify a personal landmark, or moment of abandon. The inside has everything to do with the outside, and vice versa.
"Say hello, to the shrinking in your head, you can't see it but you know it's there, so don't neglect it." |

My dad's twin brother was a barber. He developed a "hairball" in the palm of his hand. I was very difficult for him to fully open his hand. And now.....you may add your dirty jokes about hairy palms!
It never seems to end |
