In Loch Ravens' woods there is a cemetery called "The Merryman Cemetery". I have witnessed on many occasions the feeling of someone watching you while you are in there. I conducted some experiments w/cameras and tape recorders that divulged eye opening results. The grave yard has been vandalized and a lot of the stones are down. Even some of the graves may have been dug up. I have cleared out the fallen trees in there and put most of the stones back up. I did this all by myself and I tell you,the place is haunted in a big way.

I think it is most considerate of you to provide restoration to the cemetary. I would not doubt the spirits who reside there think highly of you as well Angel

When I retire of working for the world, I am going to haunt cemetries...cleaning up graves, wandering. I think its very romantic...in a really warped kinda way

I always found a cemetary sad and lonely , with thoughts of life wasted and dreams lost and people forgotten .Interesting how people see things differently and take something so personal from every situation But tis a great thing you wish to do . My hat goes off to you

I have always thought cemetaries to be a romantic and comforting place. Whether it be to see loved ones passed on or just randomly chat to stranger buried 6 foot under, to me it holds a sense of romance and comfort. True, they are a lonely place. But the atmosphere of early morning or dusk is, albeit a creepy one, unlike anything you find in any other place. The air is mingled with melancholy, but still looks beautiful as the morning sun kisses the graves of those past...and shines thru the trees casting shadows of mystery for the day...and in the evening as the sun sinks away bringing the light of the moon to its wake, it feels creepy yet you cannot help but be in awe of the beauty and mystery it creates. Your hair stands on end as you walk thru reading the names and inscriptions of each grave as, be it day or night, tis always a tad nippy in a cemetary I like to sit on the tables in the gazebos provided, and surround myself with lit tealight candles and ponder the ways of life. To me it isnt wasted thoughts of life and dreams wasted, its a good time put things in perspective, because one day there will be a headstone with an inscription bearing my name (tho my body will be elsewhere) and it helps me keep heading towards the paths I wnat to take, in order to bring some minor fulfillment into my living life.

I do respect your feelings on the cemetary Iceheart,And in no way mean to disregard them. perhaps the recent loss of my daughter prohibits me from seeing the things you do. But it would comfort me to think someone such as yourself were there talking to her and finding beauty in resting place. Angel

I am sorry to hear about your daughter Angel. I can understand your distaste for cemetary wanderings and shall cease my mindless babble of them
I am a virgin to having lost anyone of close relation to myself, and whilst I do consider myself evry lucky to have those I love and care about still with me, the older I get, the more I dread learning that someone I love is gone.
I don't know if you've heard of the singer Sarah Mclachlan (I'm a huge fan, her voice is absolutely amazing - so pure and sincere are her lyrics) but she has a song called "Hold On". While it is tainted with sorrow and loss, theres also comfort in it if you listen closely to her words...so I'm told. Never having actually listened to it in the midst of deep sorrow, I personally wouldn't know, but a mate of mine vouches for it It is written for a man but he says you just substitute the "man" for whoever it is you've lost, its a great song to listen to when you feel deep in a pit of misery.
Hold on, hold on to yourself For this is gonna hurt like hell. Hold on, hold onto yourself You know that only time will tell. What is it in me that refuses to believe? This isn't easier than the real thing. My love, you know that you're my best friend. You know I'd do anything for you. And my love, let nothing come between us My love for you is strong and true Am I in heaven here or am I... At the crossroad, I'm standing.... So now you're sleeping peaceful I lie awake and pray That you'll be strong tomorrow And we'll see another day and we will praise it I love the light that brings a smile, across your face Oh God, if you're out there won't you hear me I know that we've neevr talked before Oh God, the man I love is leaving Will you take him, when he comes to your door Am I in heaven here, or am I in hell At the cross roads, I'm standing So now you're sleeping peaceful I lie awake and pray That you'll be strong tomorrow And we'll see another day and we will praise it I love the light taht brings a smile, across your face Now you're sleeping peaceful I lie awake and pray That you'll be strong tomorrow And we'll see another day and we will praise it I love the light that brings a smile, across your face Hold on, hold onto yourself This is gonna hurt like.......hell

I am also a fan of Sarahs i do think the song is very touching . No need to stop discussing any topic though due to my feelings.I am able to express whats in my heart without being disturbed by anothers take about the same subject. It makes for interesting conversation and sometimes a new way to see the same subject.I actually was moved by your outlook.
