My son (age 11) has 2 axolotls, last night he discovered 1 had died, whilst the other an albino is not looking very well. We are unsure why 1 died and the other unwell.
Any advice on why 1 died and how to care for the sick one would be appreciated.
Background: the tank is large enough, we have a gravel bottom and not too much water, about 15cm high. They can touch the bottom of the tank in parts. The room is not too hot and they are fed regularly, ususally meat.
Tim is quite sad as he has only had them for approx 5 months.
