A baby with something called "Harlequin Foetus Syndrome", a genetic skin disease where the skin is extremely tight and cracks where bent. It is almost always fatal and extremely rare.

Genetically, what goes wrong to produce this?
Is there any way to tell if your foetus has it before its born?

Yeah, lets hope none of the children have children.

Worst part, their parents knew their next kid would have it. And still decided to have children, knowing they would suffer.

There are four kids living with this disease in the U.K., I saw a show on the discovery channel about it.
They all have thinned out hair, and are extreamly red-looking.

You can probably get a genetic screening to see if your heterozygous for "Harlequin Foetus Syndrome". It's a recessive trait so both parents need a copy of the gene. Even then theres only a 25% chance your kid will be homozygous for "Harlequin Foetus Syndrome". What race or gene pool does the mutation occur?
