A horrifying discovery in southeast Houston -- the body of a young child found discarded in a dumpster. At this point, investigators have more questions than answers and are looking to the public for help.

A maintenance man making his morning rounds early Thursday made the discovery at the Willow Creek Apartment complex in southeast Houston. Police believe the baby is one to two years old, an Hispanic male. There are no visible signs of trauma, but the boy did appear to be malnourished.

It's the kind of discovery neighbors simply can't understand.

Resident Gail Bates described the discovery. "It's in one of those laundry bags, those striped laundry bags."

Gail says it's not what she and her husband William expected to see from their front door when they woke up.

"She was saying the same thing I did," recalled William Bates. "It's pretty sick for somebody to dump a small child like that in a dumpster."

Homicide detectives spent the morning gathering evidence at the scene, and the medical examiner's office is trying to determine the baby's cause of death, and perhaps identity.

William Bates watched them work, and says he now believes people are capable of just about anything, even leaving a child in a dumpster grave.

"With the way people are nowadays, it just doesn't seem strange that people would do that anymore," said William.

Police believe the child could have been left there as long ago as 4am Wednesday. The boy was left in a bag that was described as a red, white and dark blue plaid patterned bag made from some type of synthetic material.

Rape is the worst possible thing to happen to people. I'd rather be killed than be raped by anyone, especially my father! Rape is the loop-hole for abortion. Why would you want a child by rape? So you can look into it's eyes and always remember what happened, especially if the baby looks like your attacker? That would be to trumatizeing*, and it's kind of your way to get back at your attacker. Don't get me wrong, Beverly Hills spoiled, brat-ish women who accidently get pregnant and want the baby KILLED because it would look bad is ridicules*. Put it up for adoption.
*Spelling sucks.

i would not be able to do something so morbid to my child.i do understand that a female raped by her father or someone would want to do something so rash.still it dose take someone sick in the head to do something as bad as to take a baby new to this world and be taken out by the mother that carried it .where god to save the childern?

Many civilizations have, over history, slain infants male and female, en masse. In the US, it is not terribly unusual (If not exactly commonplace) for the bodies of infants and babies to be discovered in trash bins and tucked under rubbish piles. Packaged in plastic trash bags, wrapped in blankets, etc...
Quite often, it is the mother, under pressure of some sort, or desperatley overburdened by the reality of raising a child, or compelled by a boyfriend/father, who is the perp. The one who brings them in, most often takes them out shortly after.
Sad, but true...

My book is only now getting started. I have done research in forensics and now feel that I may be ready to do it. The book, as of now, will be titled Connect the Dots. This first book will have a genaric idea behind it. It will contain a serial killer and of course the detective trying to catch him. The killer will kill his victims, first someone that he knows personally, then moving aroung in a dot pattern on the map to spell out 'kill' or 'die'. The killers signature will be biting the nips off of the women that he kills. What do you think? Too Genaric?

Mary Ann Cotton, She is dead and she is rotten, She lies in her bead, with her eyes wide open, sing, sing, oh, what can I sing, Mary Ann Cotton is tied up with a string. Where, where? Up in the air. Sellin' black pudddens a penny a pair.

thats so sad.
some people are so fucked up in the head.
why would you do something like this?
whats your book about jamie cook? the mind does work in strange ways. when your body suffers something terrible, the mind automatically puts you into a shock that makes everything seem dream-like and unreal.
well, for me it does

This is something that is terrible to read about but yet I find it strangly interesting. I use stories like this one for ideas for a book that I am writing called connect the dots. This is something that would make me have nightmares if I was the one that found it however it is also one of those stories that just compels you to keep reading. The human mind works in weird and morbid ways and there are only a few that will admit it.
