One for the Queensland people - off another list.
"Julie Loughrey has a wonderful way with her guests. As a motel
operator she likes to keep the customers happy, but her cheery
morning greeting can be a bit of a conversation-stopper.

"Did you get poked last night?" she will ask them, as if a night
spent upstairs with Bridget is the only inevitable outcome.
Bridget Clancy took poison and died 100 years ago upstairs in the
building which now houses Julie and Marvin Loughrey's Park Motel, in
Charters Towers.
And every now and then, if visitors choose an upstairs room in the
restored 1888 building-- and especially the room in which Bridget
died – her ghost is said to materialise in the dead of night and poke
the sleeping intruders in the ribs.
That's the story, anyway, and why not believe it? "It might be the
pureness of the gold that helps to open the spirit gateway," says
Julie, a sceptic with a sense of mischief. "

Yes, you are absolutely right. I have recently started work at the The Park Motel and I work with bridget, but she is said to be the nice ghost who lives there. The man who was found hung (not known if he commited suicide or was hung by other people) in the room next to hers is the mean ghost, i don't blame him though, i would be mean too if that happened to me. But he is not that bad i've only heard of him turning fans on and one of them pulled the mop i was carrying when i was walking up to there rooms to clean it, and heard noises coming out of his room when no one was in there because it has been locked totally, i absolutely SHIT myself. |

Ooo now that sounds like a fun sleep-over!
Shame CT is so far from Brissie tho, but if I ever get up there I will be sure to over-night it at that place
