Posted - 07 May 2004 : 3:55:02 PM If Vampyrism began somewhere in Eastern Europe in the1400's, and given the extremity of their physiology, it would be logical to assume that if they have survived this long that they may have evolved in order to survive.
Long-lived creatures are doomed to evolve more slowly, whatever the pressures on them; a longer life means fewer generations, slower reproduction and so fewer opportunities for evolutionary change.
Parasitic organisms might appear to have the freedom to reproduce at will; but most are subject to limitations, in some cases a complex life cycle, involving more than one host species, in others a simple population pressure.
Vampires who allow their community to grow too large risk discovery and destruction; individuals and small groups might get by for ages - especially in isolated communities. The act of vampirification creates a potential competitor, as well as a blood relative - a community that can support one vampire's appetites might not be able to support two; from such instability mobs, riots and flaming torches are born!

Posted - 13 November 2006 : 12:37:45 PM I do not believe in Vampires so I couldnt honestly say but evolution would suggest if they do exist then yes, they have evolved into something more safisticated for this time era.

Posted - 30 September 2004 : 1:30:43 PM An interesting fetish raised by jade_delicious - has anyone else encountered blood drinking during sex? Biting brings that line between pleasure and pain into sight, but what could swallowing the pain do? The book is written that well I don't doubt that blood being an aprodisiac is possible. Tho nothing beats melting chocolate in strategically placed places
Mazepaa - advance on your religious vampiric post I cannot stand to be in the same room with a bible, least of all would I ever pick one up to study the roots of our fairy tales. But to say Judas was the first Vampyre has my attention. Where would read abou this *fictitional character?
*I say fictitional because I do not believe for one second any of the shit written in the so called Bible to end all Bibles - The Christian Bible. How Christ could be so greedy as to think he create and maintain pefection is beyond me, but when push came to shove he bowed out nicely didnt he The Raelians.......now thers an interesting bunch of people with a religion WORTH investigating

Posted - 29 September 2004 : 5:43:06 PM "Judas was the first Vampyre....cursed by God after betraying Christ,he was cursed to live forever as walking dead."
This is the first time that I have heard that particular version of Vampyre Genesis. Where did you come across this account of vampiric origin Mazeppa? I have compiled and compared a fairly good sized pile of Vampyre lore and research, and one of the more plausible and accepted versions of the story of the Vampyres begins with Cain in the old testament. After slaying his brother Abel, Cain was cast out into the land of nod, and cursed with several afflictions consistent with vampiric nature as we know it.....

Posted - 07 June 2004 : 1:54:08 PM I have, from time to time, encountered people like that, and I think you're dead on angel. Tho I dont know if these people are calling themselves Vampyres, but I know of a person who literally sucks my will to live. Whenever Im around him, we always end up in firey conversations and he just seems to get more and more into it whilst I get more and more frustrated and drained to the point where I give up trying to argue with him. It always stops then, the feeling that Im being drained of my energy. He isn't really the Vampyre type either.

Posted - 30 May 2004 : 6:12:58 PM I think that there is a lot more Psychic Vampirism going on now than actuel blood letting. There are those who seem to suck the life out of you just being near them. People who through high drama or inciting you to anger etc can feed off the unsuspecting leaving you drained and exausted with out knowing why.

Posted - 21 May 2004 : 11:42:04 AM I don't mind the odd bite now and then during sex but I think if someone bit hard enough to draw blood I'd probably lash out with both fists.

Posted - 10 May 2004 : 4:08:14 PM I have just finished reading the most incredible novel called "The World on Blood". Mazeppa and Jukama, for a most intriguing and BELIEVABLE insight into vampires I recommend you get a copy of this book post haste and devour it. It is absolutely spell binding.
Blood is described as being the ultimate "high"........*sigh*, and the sex, well..........
I wonder if thats possible - getting high as a kite by drinking blood? High as in high when you take ekkys and get really really stoned and everything becomes so pure and honest; so simply and wonderful. And dam funny.
