Big Nose Kate, born Kate Fisher, was a dance hall girl who attached herself to the Wyatt Earp gang and became ‘Doc’ Holliday’s girlfriend. Holliday must have been short-sighted as well as an alcoholic, for Kate was the ugliest of all the Wild West girls. But she did establish Tombstone’s first dance hall in a specially built marquee.
