The small town of Carrollton, Ga mourns the recent death of a longstanding member of the community and former Chief of Police.
Jack Bell, an important figure in local politics was found dead in his own field 2 weeks ago. The story as reported in the local papers goes something like this:
Jack Bell was riding his John Deere tractor through a fallow field on his vast farm acreage. Somehow, the former Police Chief managed to run over himself, and was then found by an unnamed white male, who then contacted the authorities.
Strange in itself that a man would run over himself,(especially one who was familiar with heavy farm equipment since the womb) but stranger still that he was found by someone with no business being on Mr. Bells property. The best is yet to come however, because what the papers failed to add, but what the citizens of Carroll County have known for decades, is that Jack T. Bell was the John Gotti of the criminal justice system in Carroll County.
Mr. Bell was dirtier than Georgia red clay, and probably harder to wash clean.
No official investigation has been launched in the death of the former Police Chief, and if I were a betting gal, I'd bet there never will be.
Better to let sleeping Pigs lie, as the old adage goes.

"Say hello, to everything you've left behind....it's even more a part of your life now that you can't touch it."
