Subject: Second-hand surgery Francis Murphy amputated a toe and undertook hip surgery on an elderly woman during 17 successful operations at Redhill General Hospital, England. It was not until after he was sacked that the hospital discovered he was a phoney who had learned his techniques from his medical student wife. Murphy was jailed for two years.
