Police were searching yesterday for a man who robbed a Woodlynne store Sunday after he hit the clerk in the neck with a rock.

The robber entered the Old Farm Market at Ferry and Park Avenues in Woodlynne around 2:10 p.m. and bought several items. As the clerk was getting change from the register, the man took a rock from his coat pocket and struck her in the neck, knocking her to the floor. He then reached over the counter and removed cash from the register. The clerk suffered some bruising.

The robber fled on Hallowell Lane toward the Tamarack Apartments in neighboring Camden. He was described as black, 20 to 30 years old, about 5-foot-8, and 210 to 240 pounds. He was wearing a dark-blue hooded nylon jacket with three large white stripes on both sleeves, a black knit hat, light-colored pants, and Timberland-style boots.

Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to call Woodlynne Police Detective Bill Moore at 856- 962-8760, Ext. 217, or Senior Investigator Trish Taulane of the Camden County Prosecutor's Office at 856-225-8400.
